Friends of Russian Orphans is not an adoption agency. Rather, our mission is to serve children who remain in the orphanage system. Still, we also know that nothing can improve a child’s chance for a healthy, productive and meaningful life than adoption by a loving family. Therefore, we encourage anyone interested in the fate of orphans to seriously consider adoption. Through Friends of Russian Orphans' “Journeys of Joy” program, families have made commitments to pursue adoption of Russian orphans. And, because of the attention Friends of Russian Orphans has brought to the needs of homeless children, many other families, including several members of our Board of Directors, have responded to the biblical command to care for orphans by becoming adoptive parents themselves.
